Washing And Ironing Linen - Tips & Tricks

Wash Linen
Linen is the one of the coolest fabrics for all seasons. They are comfortable, casual and suit all occasions. Bed linen, blazers or suits or even normal pants, everything in linen looks very classy and even the price is equivalently high. Maintaining linen is not that easy as we think. One wash may take away all the new look and make it awfully bad and old.Today, we shall tell you on how to wash linen and iron it. Take a look.

Washing And Ironing Linen Fabric – Cleaning Tips

1. The natural yarns in linen are too delicate, once they are wrinkled they remain as it is so hand wash will not work for these fabrics. Washing linen in machine with little liquid detergent and warm water is the right way.

2. Dry cleaning linen is also another way to care the fabric. This maintain the cloth crisp and new for a long time.

3. The stains can be washed by wiping them with cotton soaked vinegar and talcum powder (oil stains).

4. After wash, the fabric needs to be dried in shade and shouldn't be squeezed to drain away the excess water. Blazers and suits need to be dry washed what so ever.

Ironing Linen

1. Iron linen clothes starting from the inner lining of the garment. Only dry ironing.

2. Never wrap them after ironing as they may get wrinkled again. Arrange them in your wardrobe using hangers (preferably wood to avoid metal reaction).

Fabric Care

1. Linen can also be attacked by moths, molds and mildew so securing your wardrobe by placing repellents and scented disinfectants can keep fabric fragrant and fresh all long.
