Your Own Inexpensive Designer Bathroom
Quickly tell me the first 10 thoughts that come to mind when you blurt out, 'bathroom.' If they include, bath, soap, shampoo......and so on, let me share with you what comes to my mind. Relaxing, romantic, aromatic, fun and lots of light. How? Lets talk about it.
I have personally known many people who read their newspapers, novels and do a bit of thinking in an otherwise conventional place, 'the bathroom.' Gone are the days when the bathroom served only the dictionary purpose. Today arenas have widened and so have the horizons. Today bathrooms are a place for relaxing, light reading, ahem....romancing, overall it is a fun place.
Move away from the conventional and do something different. When you then turn around and look at it, you will fall in love all over again. Decorate your bathroom in styles as country, contemporary, and traditional through colors, fixtures, and fine details.
Lighting is very important in illuminating your bathroom. The appearance of your bathroom will improve dramatically with good lighting, you can clearly distinguish between your lipstick shades, even the slightest of difference will reflect well through the clear mirror standing so proudly camouflaging the size of your bath area. Pick up some good trendy mirror and adorn the wall. This will automatically give you a feeling of a ballroom size bath. Mirrors today come in trendy designs, some have an intricate brass work frame. Also you can lay hands on the antique finish mirror which looks more like a window in the palace.
Whatever be the style of your bathroom, plants and flowers add a touch of class. Plants also help keep mosquitoes away. Keep a vase of fresh flowers, if you have a wide platform sink. The corners of the room can have green leafy plants to give you a garden effect. Some floating candles in a clear glass bowl, with colourful pebbles will give you that romantic touch. A candle light bath!!! Stack up some good reading material, like the day's newspaper, magazines on a trendy newspaper holder and place it by the tub or a leisure area. Quality time in the bathroom isn't it?
Leave your bathroom always clean and sweet smelling. Mop away the water if you don't have a specific bath area and water tends to spill all over. Have a good ventilation system so that there is always flow of fresh air. Due to the mushrooming apartment culture, most times it is not possible to have big windows, for which you can go in for an exhaust. This will help clear steam and air from the room and leave it clear for the next user. Keep room freshners around so that it keeps your bathroom sweet smelling. Room fresheners today come in interesting flavours and types. You can use liquids, gels, bars or even potpourri. All make effective room fresheners.
