Dehydration is a condition in which your body doesn't have enough water to carry out its tasks, and thirst is the main symptom of this.

1. Diabetes Mellitus:

This is categorized by a hormone imbalance in the body and it affects the water absorption. This is because you lose vast amounts of water through urine.
3. Menstrual Cycles:
During your periods, you might want to drink up tonnes of water. This is because the oestrogen and progesterone levels can affect the fluid volume level in the body, thereby leaving you thirsty.
4. Dry Mouth:
Dry mouth is often mistaken as excessive thirst. This condition occurs due to the abnormal dryness of the mucous membrane in the mouth.
5. Anaemia:
Sudden blood loss due to issues like heavy periods or bleeding ulcers is one of the most common causes of anaemia. Hence, the body will try to make for the fluid loss by triggering thirst.
6. Low Blood Pressure:
Low blood pressure actually triggers dizziness, depression, anxiety and also extreme thirst.
7. Your Diet:
Foods that are known to have a diuretic effect like celery, beets, lemons, etc., can make you feel very thirsty, as they make you urinate more.
