Why Sleeping Aids Are Dangerous
Most of us easily fall asleep but for many, falling asleep seems to be a chore. But the human body needs 8 hours of peaceful sleep. If the sleep quality is affected, many other complications may arise.

When falling asleep becomes a struggle, some people use several sleeping aids which could even be sleeping pills. Generally, sleeping aids help your body calm up and gradually fall asleep.
Some of those sleeping aids contain antihistamine and diphenhydramine which are compounds that may create dependency.

Though it is harmless to take such a pill very rarely, using them regularly could be very dangerous. Even if sleeping aids are prescribed, the intention behind them is to help you fall asleep but not to depend upon them daily.

If you take the pill on the wrong time, its effects may still act on your system and this could make your driving hazardous. If the pill is taken too early, one may not get enough sleep and if it is taken too late, the effects of the pill may stay till late in the morning affecting other activities.

Some of those pills may also alter human behavior. In some people, prolonged usage is linked to erratic moods. Yes, they can cause mood swings.

Prolonged usage may develop tolerance. This makes your body require higher dosages to fall asleep. The higher the dose, the risks are said to increase.

Other organs may get affected on prolonged usage as your body finds it tough to eliminate the chemicals on a daily basis.

Once you get used to the habit of falling asleep after a pill, you will find it very tough to get rid of the habit. It's a drug and it can turn into an addiction.

Over dosage may sometimes kill. Knowingly or unknowingly, if an over dosage occurs, it may end in death.

Usage of sleeping aids may also cause other side effects like depression, anger and frustration. Such pills may affect the overall health in the long run.
