Having water early in the morning is a therapy which was born out of ancient Ayurvedic medicine. This is also known as 'Usha Paana Chikitsa' in Sanskrit which means early morning water treatment.
The human body consists of about 70% of water and water helps in the proper functioning of the body. We must drink 5-6 glasses of fresh water early in the morning. In fact, in ancient India, people used to keep water in a brass utensil over night and used to have it early morning.
It was responsible in curing many diseases and was an excellent therapy for having good eye sight. But over a period of time and with the existing life style, people have forgotten the benefits of having water - forget about consuming it early in the morning, they don't make up to the minimum need as well, like 6-8 glasses regularly.
Make sure you do not have anything for at least half an hour after you have had fresh water. This therapy has no side effects, rather helps to have an excellent metabolism. If you don't have this habit, you can initially start with having 3-4 glasses and increase the quantity gradually.
Just try to make it a habit and you will feel more active and fresh after following this practice. If you aren't consuming 6-8 glasses on a regular basis, you must have fresh fruits and veggies. Take your own time in consuming water. You shouldn't gulp it down immediately. And always make sure and strictly follow this habit to consume water while sitting and have it slowly, otherwise, it may become a problem for your food pipe.
