Have a look at some of the best tips for arthritis patients, here.
Tip #1
Difficulty in opening taps, jars, etc., is one of the most common problems faced by people with arthritis, so instead of trying to open them by applying pressure from your hand, try applying the pressure from your shoulders, this helps a lot!
Tip #2
Invest in electric appliances like blenders, electric vegetable choppers, dishwashers, etc., as this can help you avoid using your hands too much.
Tip #3
Another tip to deal with arthritis is to keep items that you use regularly within an easy reach, as reaching for them if they are placed too high on the shelves can be really difficult.
Tip #4
You can use an electric toothbrush for maintaining dental hygiene, as it will require less movement from your hand.
Tip #5
While carrying shopping bags, ensure that you do not use your fingers to hold the bag through the loops, instead you can carry the bag using both your arms to reduce the pressure.
Tip #6
When you are climbing stairs, ensure that you put your stronger leg first (the leg with less or no joint pain) and then place the weaker leg. This lessens the pressure that is applied on the weaker leg.
Tip #7
While exercising, take a lot of breaks, as continuous exercise can worsen the joint pain.
