The increasing level of pollution has been a cause of major concern. This article deals with a few of the simple ways in which one can protect the lungs from getting infected with pollution.

Air pollution does not just affect the respiratory system and the lungs, but continuous exposure to pollution can have a very bad impact on one's immune system. It can harm the blood vessels, the kidneys, increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases and further lead to serious health problems related to neurological disorders. If not taken care of on time, it might turn fatal as well.

Along with the green vegetables adding fresh fruits in your daily diet helps prevent one from keeping away from the effects of pollution on the lungs. Fruits like apple, pomegranate and oranges are helpful.
5. Getting A Good Night's Sleep:
Having a good night's sleep is also equally important for your respiratory health. If the air flow through the respiratory system gets affected, it might have a bad effect on the lungs.
6. Maintain Personal Hygiene:
In order to keep yourself away from any pollution-related infection, especially in the lungs and respiratory system, one should maintain personal hygiene. Simple ways like washing hands with soap and water and avoiding crowded areas can be helpful.

A few plants like bamboo, aloe vera and money plants that can be kept indoors help in purifying the air. It is better to keep a few of these plants at home in order to prevent indoor pollution.
