If You Are Having Low Platelet Count, Try These 15 Natural Ingredients First

By Shubham Ghosh

A low platelet count is a health disorder whereby your blood has a below-normal number of platelets. This condition is medically called thrombocytopenia and it happens when a person has less than 1,50,000 platelets per micro litre of blood (whereas the normal range is between 1,50,000 and 4,50,000). The condition of a person's blood platelet can be known through laboratory test.

Why blood platelet count decreases?
The platelets' count decreases when their production in the bone marrow cell decreases or when they get destroyed in the bloodstream or in the liver or spleen. Certain cancerous diseases, kidney problems, autoimmune disorders and overconsumption of alcohol cause destruction of blood platelets.

Symptoms of low platelet count can be suspected when one suffers frequent bleeding from nose, gum, etc. or gets bruised easily.

There are various treatments available to treat low-platelet count besides medicines, like platelet transfusion or spleen-removal surgery but it is always better to try some home or herbal remedies first to reverse the low count.
