When we are done with the groceries, the first thing we all do is fill the fridge with perishable items. However, despite popular belief, there are some food times that you should never store in the refrigerator as it can spoil the food faster.
On the other hand, when these foods are placed in the refrigerator it can lessen the flavour and also change the texture of the food item reducing the protein and nutrient value as well. According to experts, it is said that these foods when stored in cool temperatures aids in drying up the fruit or the vegetable which makes it invaluable for you to consume.
STORING FOODS TO PRESERVE NUTRITION

Coffee
When you store coffee, there is a high chance of the flavour changing due to cold temperatures. Coffee should be stored in an air tight container only.
Tomatoes
If you want the tomatoes to ripen faster, then store them in the refrigerator. Ripened tomatoes should be stored outside so that they don't rot quickly.
Sauce
Sauces, especially hot sauces can be stored outside for more than three years. This is one food you should not refrigerate as the spices in the sauce can ferment when stored in cold temperatures.
Potatoes
One of the vegetables you should not refrigerate is potatoes. Store them in a dry place to prevent moisture and mold.
Avocados
Never place green avocados in the refrigerator as it will rot quickly.When the fruit is ripened storing it in cool temperatures is advisable.
Onion
Onions need to be kept in an area that allows air circulation and the refrigerator does not provide this facility.
Bread
