There is a book written by a Japanese lady known as Naomi Moriyama. The name of the book is Japanese women don't get old and fat. In this book she has revealed the health secrets of Japanese people.
She claims of resorting to traditional food cooking which helped her husband to shed extra fat and boosted both of them with energy. These days, in India we are all focusing on fast and junk food and the traditional foods have been forgotten by most of us. This is the reason why people are now being troubled by ill health and various diseases.

Japanese Gardens - Holistic Representation Of Nature
Fish, Soy, Rice, Vegetables And Fruit
Japanese cook their meals at home. Their traditional meal includes grilled fish, little steamed rice, boiled vegetables, a bowl of miso soup and green tea. They make these foods with love and rarely visit restaurants.
Light Cooking
They avoid high temperatures in their cooking and cook food on low flame, steaming (low temperature high pressure), pan grilling and sautéing. This preserves the nutrient value of the food. They also use healthy cooking oils such as olive oil.
Small Portions And Food Presentation
You must have visited a Japanese restaurant and noticed that food is served in small bowls and it satisfies you despite the small portions. They focus more on the presentation of food and they eat their food slowly to enjoy it. This keeps their digestive system in good health and they stay fit.
Less Desserts
It is not a hard and fast rule to have a sweet dish after the main meal. They are not important in Japan. They are served in smaller portions and not liked so much as in other countries.

In Japan noodles are low in fat and come in different varieties. They are made of beans and buckwheat (soba noodles).

Japanese eat a lot of soy. They have almost 50 grams of soy per day in the form of many traditional dishes. Apart from this they also have green tea after meals. This protects their heart and keeps them young always.
