Earwax is also known as cerumen. It is a gel-like lubricant which is made up of dead cells. Fatty secretion and hair tend to get accumulated in the ear.
Though earwax is a protective substance, when it gets accumulated, it can also cause several issues like temporary hearing loss, earache, itching, dizziness and even discharge from the ear canal. Ear wax can also block your eardrum.
Few major reasons for the accumulation of earwax are excessive usage of hearing aids, earplugs and cleaning the ear with cotton swabs, pins or matchsticks. This practice pushes the wax deeper instead of pulling it out completely and it causes blockage.

Warm some paraffin oil and put 2-3 drops of this solution on the affected ear. Keep this solution inside your ear for at least 5 mins. Tilt your head and remove the solution.
This is a tricky one. Make sure the quantity of hydrogen peroxide is not more than required. Make a solution with water and hydrogen peroxide using them in equal quantities. Tilt your head and pour a few drops. Stay in this position for a few seconds. After a point, tilt your head and drain the solution out.
This is an ancient remedy to remove wax. Pour a few drops of almond oil in your earlobe and tilt your head. Stay in this position for 5 mins. It helps soften the wax and removes it easily.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Cleaning your earwax with apple cider vinegar not only helps remove the earwax but it also helps restore the normal pH levels of the ear. To make a solution, add 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar to a cup of warm water. Pour in a few drops and remove the wax easily.
This is one of the effective home remedies to get rid of earwax. Few drops of this oil helps dissolve the accumulated wax completely. Make sure you use lukewarm mustard oil as it helps soften the wax faster.
Soften your ear wax by pouring a few drops of baby oil using a dropper. Let the oil settle in for some time. Use a cotton ball to remove the excess oil. This oil helps in softening the wax which makes it easy to remove.
Try Saline Solution
This is one of the easiest remedies to get rid of ear wax at home. Dissolve ½ tsp of salt in ½ cup of warm water. Soak a cotton ball in this and squeeze few drops of the solution in the eardrum. Tilt your head and bring out the entire solution.
