Gestational hypertension is basically known as pregnancy induced hypertension. This is observed in pregnant woman after 20 weeks of gestation. This is caused due to absence of protein in the urine, and causes a kind of arterial hypertension in the process. You will experience several kinds of hypertensive states during pregnancy. Gestational hypertension is just one of the several kinds. The other kinds of hypertension include preeclampsia which is obviously gestational hypertension, but along with proteinuria. Rest is Must
You must have heard this lot by now. You should take ample amount of rest. This simply means that in case you are a working woman; make sure you do get some rest when you are pregnant. This will help your baby, and you as the stress levels go down, and you are more relaxed. When you are working, the chances of stress level going high are always high.

Exercising is Good
It is always good to exercise nicely when you are pregnant. Exercising also helps control gestational hypertension. You should exercise at least two hours in a week. You should not exert too much pressure on your lower limbs while you are pregnant. You could take up some extra classes like yoga, swimming etc. to exercise while you are pregnant. Exercise will help curb the issue of gestational hypertension, and will relax your whole body. This is especially true, in case you have had a miscarriage at some point in time.

Avoid Dehydration
Dehydration and pregnancy don’t go together. It is always good if you can avoid the dehydrated state when you are pregnant. Drink loads of water throughout the day. You should have water before and after exercising to make sure your system has sufficient water. Stop the physical activity when you feel there is a lot of pain, experience bleeding, or experience increased heart rate. In such cases, you should discontinue the physical activity as it can pose strain to your body.

Fourth Month of Pregnancy
As soon as you enter the fourth month of your pregnancy, make sure you don’t do any physical activity while in the lying position. In case you do so, you will be preventing the blood vessels from the lower portion of your body to the heart. This can lead to major issues especially when you are suffering from gestational hypertension.

Go Easy on Salts
To overcome gestational hypertension, make sure you lower the intake of salts in your body. This helps curb the high blood pressure in your body. It will be a little difficult to put a halt on salt but this will definitely help you
