Noise is something that we have stopped noticing in our modern lives. This is because we are perpetually living in noise. Be it the noise of the traffic or people blasting music around you, the health effects of noise can be very damaging to you. The health effects of noise to humans are rarely discussed because there is hardly anything you can do to change it.
You cannot stop hearing the noise that is all around you. But you have the right to know what are the side effects of this noise. And if you can be aware of the health effects of noise on the human body, maybe you will make a conscious effort to make less noise that will add to the already existing cacophony around you. Noise can have serious implications for your health.
The health effects of noise include heart attacks, loss of hearing and psychological impacts like depression as well as stress. Needless to say, noise is depreciating the quality of your life. You may have thought that noise is merely an annoying factor of modern life. However, the health effects of noise pollution go far beyond annoyance.

Headaches
Shrill and loud noise can be one of the worst triggers for people who suffer from migraines. So if you come down with a migraine attack due to loud music played by your neighbour, stand up for yourself and complain.
Loss Of Hearing
Listening to loud music, especially on headphones for prolonged periods of time can damage your eardrums. If you keep your ear phones plugged on all the time, you can go deaf by the time you are 35.
Heart Attacks
Sometimes, loud noises are bad for heart patients. Loud and banging noises can affect your echocardiogram. Three per cent of all heart attacks are caused directly or indirectly due to sudden noises.
Increased Stress Levels
There are a million reasons for stress these days. And noise contributes to raising these stress levels further. Stress hormones in turn cause hypertension and damage every part of your body.
Lack of Concentration
It is a proven fact that you ability to imbibe what you are reading is reduced by 8 percent when you can hear someone talking. So imagine how much of concentration you lose at work when your colleagues are constantly gossiping around you.
ADHD
Kids have an attention deficiency and hyper activity syndrome that is called ADHD. This usually makes children have very short attention span and it gets carried over to adulthood. When you cannot listen to something patiently even when you want to, it could be because you have been exposed to too much noise.
