Flat Feet Exercises To Do On Your Own

Flat feet are a problem faced by around 20 percent adults. Although some cases of flat feet are hereditary, most of the instances where a person has flat feet are developed. Even though a lot of people have flat feet, very few are actually born with it. Although arch support inserts and stability running shoes are available in the market, they usually tend to make the problems worse instead of correcting them.

But flat feet can be very easily cured with a few simple exercises. All of us have flat feet when we are born, and the arch of the foot is usually developed through childhood. So here are a few flat feet exercises to help you correct your flat feet.

This is one of the best exercises that can be used to correct your flat feet. Once you are grown up, you forget the joy you derived from skipping. But it is time for you to bring out your inner child, as skipping is one of the most efficient exercise for flat feet. This is so because skipping helps in the development of the arch.

Toe Running

One of the best exercises for flat feet is toe running. You can do this by jumping on the treadmill bare feet and do around ten minutes of light jogging. You can do this exercise by staying on your toes the entire time you are running. This is an effective exercise for flat feet as it strengthens the muscles and ligaments of your feet.

Sand Walking

This is one of the best exercises for curing flat feet. All you have to do is go to a nearby beach, take off your shoes and walk. The fact that you are exposing your feet to a chaotic surface that constantly keep changing will help strengthen the feet.

Tip Toe Walking

Another exercise for flat feet is to simple toe walk. You can do this while pottering around the house. Just take off your shoes and socks and walk around in your bare feet. All you have to make sure is that you walk around with only your toes touching the ground. The heels must not touch the ground. You can repeat this exercise for flat feet three or four times a day, for duration of five or six minutes.

This is a great exercise for flat feet which is very simple to do. Fan out your toes as far as possible while you are sitting, standing or lying down. Make sure there is space between every toe. Try to hold this position for at least 10 seconds. Make sure you repeat this exercise ten times daily for each foot.

This is a very simple exercise for flat foot where you just pick out any object in the room and point your toe at it. After you point at something with your toe, flex your foot. Hold it for five seconds, then release. Again, do this ten times per foot each day. To make things more fun, you can try tracing the alphabets in the air with your toes.

These are some of the exercises for flat feet which will efficiently correct them. Do them regularly for the best results.
