Contact lens are the best option for people who have weak eye sight. Spectacles are not liked by everyone simply because people today don't want to look like a geek or just because the frame doesn't suit their face. With doctor's recommendations, contact lenses with the required power should be worn. However, many people complain about itching or red eyes when using lenses. The reason is due to the excessive usage of lens. There are many side effects of wearing contact lens so, it is very important to opt for this option occasionally. Eyes are sensitive so strict hygiene is crucial for protecting your beautiful eyes.

Contact lens hygiene tips:

1. Always wash your hands before wearing contact lens. Dry your hands before using lens. Make sure you use a clean towel.

2. Read the instructions given on the cover of the lens before using it. This helps you maintain the lens for a longer time.

3. Clean the lens with solution before and after every use. It is one of the hygiene tips to prevent your eyes from damage that can be caused due to lens. Cleaning the contact lenses kill bacteria and germs that stick to them. You can also use rewetting drops to disinfect your contact lenses.

4. The lens cover or store box should be changed every three months. Make sure you clean the lens box or cover after every use. Keep them open and dry it when the box is empty.

5. If you seldom wear contact lenses, make sure the solution is not expired. Cleaning the lenses with an old solution will damage them and definitely affect your eyes. So, use fresh and not expired solution to clean your contact lenses.

6. There are many types of lens solutions available in the market. Pick the right one.

7. If you are going to take a dip in the swimming pool or hot bath tub, make sure you have removed your lens.

8. To prevent contamination of your lenses, always wear lens before applying makeup.

9. After removing the makeup, wash your hands with an anti-bacterial soap. After drying your hands, take out your contact lens from the eyes.

10. If you are out in the sun wearing contact lens, cover your eyes with a sunglasses or use a hat to cut down direct UV rays.
