When it comes to fat, an ounce of skin comes with 8 grams of unsaturated fat and 3 grams of saturated fat.

What kind of fat is present in the skin? It is predominantly mono-unsaturated fat (oleic acid). Moderate levels of mono-unsaturated fat can bring down cholesterol levels. So, it can minimise the risk of stroke and heart attack. It also regulates hormones.
