When returning to work after your lunch, you soon start to feel drowsy and your limbs become heavy. There are two reasons for this. One is that your lunch was rather a heavy one indicating that your body will need to expend a lot of time and energy to digest and absorb the meal.
Another is that the meal you consumed once digested lacked the energy required by your body. Because of this you are forced to have a little snack or two before you conclude your day.
We need to learn to eat healthy as well as smart. We need to include foods for quick energy release in our diet. Below we list some quick energy foods which will give you that much needed extra boost.
Eggs
Never underestimate the power of an egg while considering foods for quick energy release. Eggs are power houses of proteins and also contain vitamins B and D. Consume egg whites only for a lean diet.
Yoghurt
This is a yummy option that comes in a variety of flavours among foods for quick energy release. It is rich in magnesium and calcium and offers you an energy boost even when you are on the go.
Almonds
These are handy snacks to have as a quick energy food. They are rich in copper, manganese and protein. The riboflavin helps in oxygen based energy production.
Bananas
They are mostly made up of sugar (glucose, fructose and sucrose), which the body can easily convert into instant energy. So when you want a quick energy food, snack on some bananas.
Honey
Now there is a sweet energiser. A spoonful of honey is packed with energy and is very helpful especially after a tiring workout. Honey helps provide energy to the muscles during exercise.
Sweet potato
Carbohydrates will give you the best choice as foods for quick energy. Sweet potatoes are high in carbohydrates and beta carotene. They are especially useful in fighting midday fatigue.
Water
Dehydration can cause a lot of fatigue to the body. Make sure to drink enough water every day. But, if you are feeling particularly tired, a glass of water will do wonders like any other foods for quick energy release.
Oranges
Oranges are packed with vitamin C, which is the perfect energy booster. All fruits are quick energy food, particularly orange and lemon. Orange can be taken as a very refreshing treat after your workout.
