6. Cloves
Cloves are used for treating chest congestion. This can be combined with fenugreek seeds for more effective results. Roast some fenugreek seeds and cloves for 2-3 minutes. Wrap this in a thin cloth and place this on the chest and throat for a few seconds. It helps to get rid of the mucus.
7. Thyme
Thyme has excellent properties to make your lungs strong to prevent infections, thereby reducing the chance of excess mucus production. You can prepare tea by adding half a teaspoon of thyme to one cup of boiling water. You can also add some honey to this.
8. Hot Shower
Hot shower provides the same effect as that of steaming. Apart from loosening and promoting mucus removal, it is a good way to get refreshed. Taking a hot shower is considered as one of the main home remedies to get rid of mucus deposition.
