At first grinding or bruxism doesn't seem like a terrible disease until damaging effects of the disease show up. Bruxism is referred to as a condition in which the patient unconsciously clenches or grinds the teeth during the night or day.

Grinding or clinching your teeth during sleep is referred to as sleep bruxism.

If left untreated, prolonged bruxism can be damaging to the teeth, jaw and face.
