The essential oil, cinnamic aldehyde, in cinnamon removes bad breath and reduces the bacterial build up in your mouth. Make a solution with cinnamon. Boil it in water and add bay leaves and cardamom to it. Strain it and use this homemade mouth freshener twice in a day.


Fruits like pears are full of fibres and chewing on these fruits can enhance saliva production. It is very effective in killing the bacteria, as it flushes out the toxins and bacterial build-up, giving you a long-lasting freshness.

Baking Soda

This is another great solution to keep bad breath at bay. Along with fighting against the bacteria, baking soda also helps maintain the balance of the acid in your mouth that causes bad breath. Make a mouth rinse with ½ a tsp of baking soda and a glass of warm water. Use it daily to wash your mouth.
