If you love to sleep for more than 8 hours in a day, there could be something wrong with your health. There are a lot of negative health effects when one does not get enough sleep and on the other side oversleeping can be bad for us too.
What is oversleeping? According to researchers it is said that adults need proper seven to eight hours of sleep in a day to protect oneself from common diseases and even an early death. Research also shows that when you oversleep you are putting yourself to a much higher risk like developing diabetes, obesity and even heart diseases.
THINGS TO AVOID BEFORE YOU SLEEP
Since lack of sleep has been the problem for many, most people ignore this or are not aware of the risks of oversleeping and as it has many side effects.
Here are some of the biggest risks or side effects of too much sleep. Take a look at why you should only sleep for 7 to 8 hours and not extend that 'beauty sleep'.
Might Develop Obesity
It is said that people who sleep for more than 9 to 10 hours each night are 25% more likely to have gained five kilos in a weeks' time. This is because the body is wasting its time in slumber rather than being active and keeping the weight under control.
Can Lead To Back Pain
The relationship between the back pain and oversleeping might look simple to you. But it is said, the longer you sleep, the longer you may be subjecting your spine to harmful positions while sleeping which can eventually lead to back pain.
Can Lead To Headaches
Oversleeping can lead to headaches. There are some people who are prone to headaches during the day and you might think it is due to stress. But, research shows that if you love to lay rest on the pillow for more than 7 hours a day it can cause an effect on the neurotransmitters of the brain.

Sleeping too much can make depression worse if you are under high dose of medication. In cases of severe depression, try not to oversleep. Focus on the positive things in life instead of falling in love with your pillow.

Oversleeping is bad for the heart as it can give rise to heart problems. It is said that people who sleep for more than eight to nine hours in the day are more prone to coronary heart diseases.

The risks of sleeping too much decrease the longetivity of life. It also brings on the early signs of Alzheimer's. Though many may seem it is good for old people to rest through the day it is however bad for the aging brain.
Wanting To Get Pregnant
Not only there are en number of problems which make it hard to conceive, oversleeping just makes it worse. Experts state that pregnancy rates were highest among the women who got seven to eight hours of sleep a night and lowest in women who got nine to 11 hours.

The most important risk of oversleeping is it could bring on the risk of diabetes. It is said that those who sleep more than 8 hours at night were more likely to develop type 2 diabetes or otherwise, impaired glucose tolerance.
