Anorexia patients tend to eat less or negligible. This results in eating very less calories and makes the patient terribly weak, often resulting in hospitalization. People suffering from anorexia, eat less to induce weight loss. But eating less for weight loss is not the right thing to do.
There are many treatments and medicines for patients to get out of anorexia and other eating disorders. The problem after getting out of anorexia is that one needs to work hard to cope up with the weight gain after anorexia.
There is a sudden urge of eating and this might lead to uncontrollable eating and increase your weight drastically. It becomes difficult to deal with weight gain once you are out of eating disorders. Small meals - To deal with the sudden hunger, anorexic patients should eat smaller meals at regular intervals. This improves the metabolism of the body along with coping up with weight gain after anorexia. Eat more carbohydrates and proteins - Carbohydrates are good for health, especially if you were just out of certain eating disorder. To keep a control on your weight gain and to put on healthy weight, you must improve your intake of carbohydrates and proteins. These two nutrients are exactly what you need to cope up with weight gain after anorexia. These help in curbing the fats and releasing energy to the body. Therefore if you have to deal with weight gain after eating disorders you must keep a check on what you are eating and improve your food habits.
Exercise - You will be eating a lot all of a sudden after coming out of your eating disorder. This can result in your body not being able to cope up with the eating and may not be able to process all the food. There will be weight gain in such cases especially if you have a low body metabolism rate. To cope up with weight gain after anorexia you should exercise regularly. Exercising need not only be the vigorous gym sessions, you can also opt for the softer ones like dancing, cycling, jogging and yoga. Some form of exercise should be performed to avoid any excess weight gain.
Detoxify - to cope with weight gain after anorexia, you must go through detox programs every once in a while. Detox helps in removing the unwanted toxins from the body accumulated over the time. These toxins are bad for the health of the body as they add to weight gain. Detox can be done by eating fruits only for a day or opting for green tea. Cutting down on sugars and junk are also ways of detoxification where you prevent increase in weight.
