You eat a variety of foods in your day to day life to keep your body strong and satiate your taste buds. The food you eat provides essential nutrients to your body which makes it strong to fight against diseases and infections. Our body needs many essential nutrients like antioxidants, Vitamin A, B, C, E and beta carotene among others. They all help our body fight against a variety of infections.

Do you consume such foods which are necessary for infections? If you follow a healthy diet, you are certainly getting the benefits and nurturing your immune system. But if you eat just for the sake of eating and fill your stomach without bothering about your health, it might take a toll on your health.

If you have never thought about it earlier, let's start now. Consume those healthy foods which are very much needed for your body. There are certain foods which are known to fight infections in your body. Let's have a look on the foods which you should consume to treat infections:

Turmeric

Turmeric, a very basic spice used in Indian cuisine is a great remedy for many types of infections. It has antiseptic properties and is known for treating throat infection, running cold and skin infections. Simply, drink a glass of warm milk with half a teaspoon of turmeric powder to treat cold and throat infection.

Cabbage

Cabbage is a highly recommended leafy vegetable to treat infections as it is an antibiotic food. It has antibacterial properties and can kill such bacteria which may cause stomach ulcers. You can have it as salad or drink its juice every day if you have stomach ulcers.

Curd

You must be having curd every day in your daily diet without knowing about its benefits. It has strong antibacterial properties and inhibits the infection in your intestinal tract. The lactic acid present in curd prevents such inflammation which cause diarrhoea and dysentery.

Coconut

Coconut is a great food to consume and treat infections as it contains almost all the essential nutrients we need. If you drink coconut water every day, you can get rid of cholera. Cholera patients should drink it with a teaspoon of fresh lime juice for better and faster results.

Garlic

Garlic is known to kill many infections such as tuberculosis, diarrhoea, encephalitis, dysentery among others. It has antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-parasitic and antiviral properties. If you take a clove of garlic every day, it kills infectious bacteria in the intestinal tract.

Ginger has such antibiotic properties which help you fight infectious diseases like diarrhoea, cholera and chest digestion. It is very good for throat infection. If you have these infections, take a teaspoon of fresh ginger juice mixed with honey and fenugreek concoction.

Carrot

Carrot is a very good food for infections. Carrot juice helps prevent eye-infection, throat infection, tonsils and respiratory tract infection. Carrot is rich in antioxidant beta-carotene which helps prevent ulcerous and cancerous conditions.

Honey

Honey

Honey has very strong antibiotic properties and is very good for many types of infections. If you have throat infection, gargle with honey water, your infection will go away soon. It is a great remedy for sore tongue and oral ulceration.

Lemon

Lemon

It is a very good remedy for throat infection. If you have this problem, take one teaspoon of lemon juice with honey once every hour. It is also very good for cholera infection. Taking lemon with your daily diet prevents cholera.

Pineapple

Pineapple

Pineapple is not only a delicious fruit but also has many health benefits. It is a very good fruit for infections such as throat infection, tuberculosis and diphtheria. Having a glassful of pineapple juice every day can keep you away from these infections.
