Can Diabetes Be Reversed?

Diabetes Reversible?
Diabetes is one of the worst epidemics of a modern lifestyle. People are getting affected by this disease in their early 30s. Diabetes is permanent which means it is non-curable. This is unfortunately, the saddest news for the sufferers. However, if you have just been diagnosed with diabetes, then there might be little hope for you to recover from the disease. The new dogma in hormone studies says that, diabetes can be reversed at a very early stage.

You cannot reverse diabetes of every kind. Diabetes are of different types and are caused due to different reasons. In general, diabetes increase the blood sugar levels.

Which Diabetes Can be Reversed?

There are mainly two types of diabetes. Juvenile diabetes is a condition in which the child's pancreas is unable to produce insulin. Insulin is an essential hormone to convert sugar into glucose (energy to be absorbed by the body). This type of diabetes has no cure because it is a congenital problem. The only solution is insulin supplements.

Type 2 diabetes is more of a lifestyle disorder than a hormonal one. It is basically diagnosed among middle aged people. The victims of Type 2 diabetes are typically obese and prone to leading an unhealthy lifestyle. The high blood sugar in this case is a result of the body cells slow reaction to insulin or insulin intolerance. Due to accumulated fats, the cells in the body stop absorbing glucose. The pancreas produces more insulin to make up and further raise the blood sugar level in the body. This type of diabetes can be reversed.

How To Reverse Diabetes Type 2?

The good news is that 90 percent of the people suffer from Type 2 diabetes. If you are detected with this diabetes, you can reverse it in the early stages. There are some things you must know in this regard.

  • Pre-Diabetes: You cannot be declared a diabetic as soon as your blood sugar crosses 120 for the first time. There is a time gap between malfunctioning of insulin and a full blown case of diabetes. The key is to catch the disease in the pre-diabetes stage. Your doctor can help you analyse.
  • Meagre Diet: You have to cut down on calories massively and attack your pending weight loss problem aggressively. Lose weight and be on a rigorous diet for alteast 3 months. Your pancreas will lose the fat deposited in it and ultimately start functioning normally. Fibre rich food is your only saviour.
  • Regular Exercise: The phrase 'regular exercise' sounds a bit lame, but when we say 'regular' we mean regular. You will have to take those brisk walks or jogging sessions relentlessly. Only then you will be able to fight off this disease.
  • Know Your Genes: If you have a family history of diabetes, start regulating your lifestyle by 30.

If you want to reverse diabetes, then you will have to change your unhealthy lifestyle. There isn't any alternative path to cure diabetes
