Everybody should understand that hydration cannot come from any other source, but water. There is little information on just how much water an individual should drink. The old recommendation of eight glasses each day might still be a realistic goal.
Athletes must drink more, depending upon how much they are sweating. Also, if the urine appears dark yellow, water consumption needs to be increased.
1. Increase Metabolism:
When you drink water, it ends up increasing your metabolism. This is because whenever you eat or drink something, your body starts working to process these things. In the process, it ends up burning calories. The same happens with water.
2. Prevents Drinking Sugary Soda:
When you end up reaching out for water instead of sugary drinks, soda, coffee or tea, you end up saving yourself from consuming huge amounts of sugar which could have caused weight gain. This is one way in which water helps you to keep your weight in control.
3. Energy:
We all know that when we are full of energy, our body and mind both function efficiently and this ends up burning more calories. So if you drink enough water, it will help you to focus and keep you energetic throughout the day which will in turn help you to stay in shape.
4. Keeps One Full For Long:
Water not only quenches your thirst, it also helps to keep you full for sometime. Sometimes when you think that you are hungry, it might not be hunger, but thirst. By drinking water during this time, you end up not consuming unnecessary food items and this helps to keep your weight in check.
