Any man and every man would dream to look like Bahubali! Huge, strong, muscular, fit, powerful and magnetic! Yes, Prabhas who played the role of Bahubali is an inspiration to many.

Prabhas was initially asked to gain 20 kilos to play the role. Gaining 20 kilos of muscle isn't an easy job.

And then he had to show variation between two roles he played in the film. One role demanded a huge appearance whereas the other demanded a lean, muscular and ripped off look. And he managed to do justice to both of them with ease.

Some sources also revealed that Prabhas went to an extent of meeting WWF wrestlers to grasp their workout routines. He is more than 6 feet 2 inches tall and used to weigh around 80 kilos before he took up the project.

You will be surprised to know about the time he spent on workouts everyday for the past few years. It was around 3-6 hours per day!

During some days, in order to bulk up, he worked out 4-6 times a day! That's sheer dedication! Of course, as none of us need to play a role like that, we don't need to do that much!

The morning sessions were spent on cardiovascular exercises like running, swimming and biking. And the evenings were spent on lifting heavy weights.

He was very careful with his diet especially for the role of 'Shivudu' that he played in the movie. He went without carbohydrates for that period of time. Yes, he stayed away from rice to get that lean, chiseled look. For the role of Bahubali, he ate brown rice, oats and pasta; he avoided white rice altogether during that period.

For breakfast, he was served egg whites along with protein powder. He had 40 egg whites a day spread into various small meals throughout the day. He also had 250 grams of chicken and fruits along with breakfast.

The rest of his plate was filled with nuts like almonds, vegetables and fish. He took 6 meals a day. He preferred to take a meal once in every two hours.

The overall calorie intake was between 2000-4000 calories per day. Unless you are into intense weight lifting workouts, it isn't advisable to eat more than 2500 calories a day.

Some sources say that he had spent around 1.5 crore to get the workout equipment shipped from a foreign country!
