Foods For People With Uric Acid
Our body contains an organic compound, uric acid. It is a by-product of our body's metabolism that circulates in the bloodstream. The increased level of uric acid in blood leads to the arthritis problem known as gout. Its level increases when body is not able to excrete it properly. Apart from gout, uric acids' accumulation in the body can cause a number of other health conditions like kidney stone etc.
If you have this condition or your parents or grandparents had this problem, you should also be very careful. It is often related to an inherited abnormality in the body's ability to process uric acid. It can be controlled to some extent if you follow a restricted and disciplined diet.
While many foods increase uric levels in the blood, others can actually help reduce these concentrations. People suffering from uric acid are advised to have fresh fruits and vegetables that are rich in Vitamin C, food that is full of fiber and a lot of water. It helps reduce uric acid levels in the body. They are also advised to avoid red meat, organ meats and highly processed foods.
