Raghavendra Rathore is a versatile designer, his disciplines span the various multitudes of design such as fashion, interior, jewellery, multimedia and product design. His working experience at the American ateliers of DONNA KARAN (DKNY) & OSCAR de la RENTA gave him a unique exposure. At Donna Karan, he learnt to build value in simpler clothes for the upper section of the mass-market under the DKNY label and a complete different experience was required at the OSCAR de la RENTA company as it is positioned in the uber luxury segment of fashion. After returning to India, he founded “Rathore Jodhpur” in early 1994 in Jodhpur.
About the brand: His metamorphosis of the Jodhpur Bandgala jacket and a “new cut for the classic Bandgala Suit”, has given him a respectable place in Indian fashion history. His contribution for making the designs synonymous with Indian heritage and resilient to the fads of fashion, has earned him acknowledgement by the Rajasthan State government.
