Quick & Easy Paneer Capsicum Bhurji Recipe

One of the most loved ingredients in India is dishes made out of cottage cheese or paneer. In Northern parts of India, it is not uncommon to find paneer as an ingredient in at least one dish in a day.

Paneer bhurji is one of the most common and simple recipe that you can make with paneer. We have added capsicum in this recipe along with paneer to make it more tasty and healthy. Since capsicum is in season at this time of the year, you can make good use of the vegetable to prepare this vegetarian recipe.

Ingredients

  • Paneer- 200 gms (crumbled)
  • Capsicum- 2 (finely chopped)
  • Tomatoes- 2 (finely chopped)
  • Onion- 1 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1tsp
  • Green chillies- 2 (slit)
  • Jeera powder- 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1tsp
  • Chat masala- 1tsp
  • Jeera seeds- 1tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Coriander leaves- 2-3tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Oil- 2tbsp

Procedure
1. Heat oil in a pan and add the jeera seeds. Allow it to splutter.
2. Then add the onions and fry till it turns golden brown.
3. Add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, jeera powder and cook for 3-4 minutes.

4. Then add the tomatoes and salt. Cook till the tomatoes become mushy.
5. Add the chat masala and crumbled paneer. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Add very little water if needed.

6. Cook for 4-5 minutes and then add the coriander leaves. Once done, switch off the flame and serve.

Paneer capsicum bhurji is ready to be served. You can serve this delicious recipe with parathas or rotis.

Nutrition Value
This recipe is filled with protein and contains about 25 percent of fat. It however not recommended for weight watchers as it has high amount of saturated fat.

Tip
For weight watchers, paneer can be substituted with tofu. It cuts down on the fat intake.
