Crisp Gobi Matar: Side Dish Recipe
Cauliflowers taste delicious and the seasonal vegetable is in the menu of the Indian cuisine. A lot of dishes are prepared using cauliflowers. Commonly known as gobi in Hindi, cauliflowers are a heart healthy flowering vegetable.
Cauliflower has numerous health benefits. Gobi contains carotenoids, such as beta-carotene, and phytonutrients which prevents free radical damage and also keeps diseases at bay. Gobi is one of the delicious and healthy vegetables which can change the taste of the dish. Gobi
florets-
250
gms
2.
Green
peas/matar-
100
gma
3.
Green
chillies-
2-3
(chopped)
4.
Turmeric
powder-
1tsp
5.
Red
chilli
powder-
1tsp
6.
Coriander
powder-
½
tsp
7.
Garam
masala-
1tsp
8.
Cumin
seeds-
1tsp
9.
Bay
leaf-
1

Salt-
as
per
taste

Oil-
1tbsp
Procedure
1.
Soak
the
gobi
florets
in
hot
water
for
20-25
minutes.
This
prevents
the
vegetable
from
creating
gas.
Moreover,
soaking
the
flroets
in
hot
water
also
makes
it
easy
to
cook
them.
2.
Heat
oil
in
a
vok.
Season
with
cumin
seeds
and
bay
leaf.
3.
Now
add
the
gobi
and
cook
on
a
medium
flame
for
about
2
minutes.
4.
Add
turmeric
powder
and
salt.
This
will
allow
easy
and
fast
cooking.
5.
Saute
and
cook
for
8-10
minutes
till
the
gobi
becomes
tender
and
looks
brown.
6.
Add
the
green
peas,
green
chillies
and
mix
well.
Cook
for
another
2
minutes.
7.
Now
add
the
red
chilli
powder,
garam
masala
and
coriander
powder.
Cook
for
about
a
minute
and
put
the
vok
off
flame.
