Paneer Pulao: A Rakhi Recipe

Paneer pulao is a simple and yet savoury pulao recipe that can be easily made on any occasion within a very short time. Especially if you are a beginner at the kitchen and yet want to prepare a special rakhi recipe for your sibling, then this is an excellent option to avail. This Indian rice recipe with paneer (cottage cheese) is a favourite main course dish among all. Paneer pulao is an Indian rice recipe that is prepared with small paneer cubes. A lot of spices like cardamon, cloves, cinnamon and black pepper are used to give a subtle flavouring to this pulao recipe. Try this recipe to make paneer pulao this rakhi and give a pleasant surprise to your sibling.

Ingredients

  • Basmati Rice- 4 cups
  • Cardamom- 2-3
  • Cinnamon- 2
  • Cloves- 2-3
  • Whole Black Pepper- 2-3
  • Onions- 1 cup (finely sliced)
  • Ginger Garlic Paste- 3-4tbsp
  • Green Chilli Paste- 1 ½ tbsp
  • Paneer Or Cottage Cheese- 3 cups
  • Vegetable oil, Ghee Or Butter- 6-7tbsp
  • Sugar- 1tsp
  • Cucumber- 2 (finely sliced)
  • Tomato- 3 (finely sliced)
  • Salt- To taste

Procedure

For The Paneer Pulao

  • Take a deep bottomed frying pan over a gas oven and add 8 cups of water to it. Add the rice and let it boil on a medium flame.
  • Bring down the rice till it is a bit hard. Strain if there is any extra water in the rice and keep it aside.
  • Now take another deep bottomed frying pan and heat it. Add the vegetable oil, ghee or butter to it. Let it heat over a medium flame.
  • Add cardamom, cinnamon, cloves and whole black pepper to it and saute on low flame until the fragrance of all spices come out.
  • Now add the onion slices to it and saute over a medium flame till they turn golden brown.
  • Now it's time to add the ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste to the pan. Saute this for 1-2 minutes over a low flame.
  • Put in the paneer cubes and lightly fry them over a medium flame.
  • Add the rice to it now. Fry on low flame for 2-3 minutes.
  • Now put the sugar and some salt to the rice in the frying pan. Saute for 2-3 minutes over a low flame.
  • Your paneer pulao is now ready to be served.

For The Serving

  • Serve the paneer pulao in 4-6 plates as per the requirement.
  • Garnish with the chopped cucumber and tomatoes.
  • Serve this Indian rice recipe hot.
