Herbal Potato Pulav Recipe

Serves : 3
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

Potato - 2 nos (boiled and diced)
Parsley - 2 (sprig, chopped)
Mint - 1 (sprig, chopped)
Cumin seeds - 1bsp
Basmati rice - 1 ½ cup
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Cloves - 3 nos
Cardamom - 4 nos
Cinnamon - 1 piece
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Water - 2 cups
Salt to taste

Method

  1. You need to heat the ghee in a pressure cooker on a medium flame.
  2. When the ghee is hot, drop in the cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom and cinnamon sticks.
  3. Now mix the ingredients well and saute them well.
  4. When they emit a certain rich fragrance, add in the boiled diced potatoes and the basmati rice.
  5. Stir the rice in the mixture well so that the mixture covers the rice evenly.
  6. Add in the salt, chilli powder and water.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil.
  8. Cover the cooker and allow it to cook for 15 minutes on a low flame.
  9. The rice needs to cook for 4 whistles.
  10. After the fourth whistle, switch the flame off and when the cooker is cool, open and stir.
  11. Now add in the chopped herbs to the cooked rice.
  12. Give it an even stir and cover the cooker for 10 minutes.
  13. After 10 minutes, you can serve your herbal potato pulav.
