Navratri is a festival where many families meet and celebrate jointly. Preparing rotis and curries during these occasions is a little difficult as these recipes need to be made in lots and be filling too. Today, we shall discuss an easy recipe that can be pressure cooked in minutes, tastes too good as well as suffice the preparation problems. Take a look.

Aloo Pulao Recipe – Easy Navratri Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 2 potatoes diced in small pieces
  2. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  3. 11/2 cups basmati rice
  4. 2 tbsp ghee
  5. 1 clove and a bay leaf
  6. 11/2 tsp rock salt
  7. 1 green cardamom
  8. A piece of cinnamon
  9. 1 tsp ginger paste
  10. 4-5 mint leaves
  11. 2 green chilies
  12. green coriander to garnish
  13. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  14. 3 cups water
  15. 2 tsps of fresh coconut
  16. 1 tsp tamarind juice

How To Make Aloo Pulao (potato pulao)?
1. Grind coriander, coconut, tamarind juice, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, mint leaves into paste and fry it with ghee, cumin seeds, ginger and bay leaves.

2. Add rice to the mixture and fry it for a few minutes.

3. Add the fried raw rice mixture to the cooker with water, sliced potato, chili powder, salt and pressure cook it for 15 minutes (until 3 whistles). Tasty aloo pulao is ready to serve.

4. Garnish the aloo pulao with chopped coriander and serve hot with spicy gravy or raita.
