Rajma With Garam Masala Recipe
India is a land of spices. And we, Indians are gifted with the knowledge of using those spices in the right amount and right procedure to create wonders with our food. People of different regions use these spices in various blends which brings about the lip-smacking taste in our Indian foods.
One of the most famous spice blends used in majority of Indian curries is the garam masala. There is hardly any North-Indian curry which is prepared without garam masala. It is a general tendency among most of us to buy the ready-made spices from the market. But we can make our dishes even better if we prepare these masalas at home.

Ingredients
- Rajma- 1 cup
- Onions- 2 (chopped)
- Ginger-garlic paste- 1tbsp
- Tomatoes- 2 (chopped)
- Turmeric powder- 1tsp
- Red chilli powder- 1tsp
- Cumin powder- 1tsp
- Coriander powder- 1tsp
- Salt-as per taste
- Water- 1 cup
- Oil- 2tbsp
For Garam Masala Recipe
- Cinnamon stick- 2
- Green cardamoms- 3
- Black cardamom- 2
- Cloves- 5
- Black peppercorns- 15
- Nutmeg- 1
- Mace- 1
Procedure

Soak
the
rajma
for
4-5
hours
or
overnight.
Pressure cook the rajma with salt and water for about 2-3 whistles on medium flame. - Once done, let it cool and keep it aside.
- Dry roast the ingredients for garam masala recipe for 2-3 minutes.
- Allow it to cool and then grind into a fine powder.

Heat
oil
in
a
pan.
Fry
the
chopped
onions
for
about
4-5
minutes.
Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for another couple of minutes. - Add the tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and cook for about 5 minutes on a medium flame.
- Now add the boiled rajma and mix well.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes and lastly add one teaspoon of garam masala powder.
Serve this rajma with garam masala recipe with steamed rice or rotis
