Paneer Butter Masala: Diwali Special Recipe

The soft paneer cubes are cooked in a rich and buttery tomato gravy with a fine blend of Indian spices. This paneer recipe gives you that 'melt in the mouth' feeling which makes your taste buds crave for more of this delectable dish.

Paneer Butter Masala: Diwali Recipe

Ingredients

  • Paneer- 500gms (cut into cubes)
  • Butter- 4tbsp
  • Oil- 1tsp
  • Bay leaf- 1
  • Cloves- 2
  • Cinnamon stick- 1
  • Dry red chillies- 2 (broken)
  • Coriander seeds- 2tbsp (crushed)
  • Onion- 1 (sliced)
  • Ginger-garlic paste- 1tbsp
  • Tomatoes- 3 (pureed)
  • Coriander powder- 1tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder- 1tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Kasoori methi- 1tsp (crushed)
  • Fresh cream- 1tbsp
  • Water- ½ cup

Procedure

  1. Heat two tablespoon of butter and one teaspoon of oil in a pan. Add bay leaf, broken red chillies, crushed coriander seeds, cinnamon, cloves and saute for a minute.
  2. Then add the sliced onions and fry on medium flame for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Now add in the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and tomato puree. Cook the ingredients for 5-6 minutes on a medium flame.
  5. Then add in the paneer pieces and mix the mixture gently.
  6. Add water, salt and mix well.
  7. Sprinkle kasoori methi over the curry and cook on a low flame for 5-6 minutes.
  8. Once done, switch off the flame and garnish with the remaining butter and fresh cream.
