Orange Zest Chutney Recipe - South Indian Side Dish

Ingredients:

  1. 1/2 cup orange zest
  2. 2-3 tsps gram dal
  3. 1 tsp tamarind juice
  4. 1 tsp jaggery
  5. 1/2 cup grated, coconut
  6. 1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  7. 5-6 curry leaves
  8. Pinch of asafoetida
  9. 2 tsps groundnut oil
  10. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  11. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  12. Salt to taste

Orange Zest Chutney Preparation:


  1. Heat the oil in a pan and fry gram dal, fenugreek seeds, coconut, orange zest (separately) until lightly brown.
  2. Add tamarind juice, jaggery, to the mixture and grind it into paste.
  3. Garnish with fried mustard seeds, curry leaves and pinch of asafoetida. Tasty orange zest chutney is ready.
