Oil Free Dosa Recipe For Breakfast

When you are on a strict diet, you should not have any oil added to your meal. When you add that one drop of oil, you are only doubling up the calories on your plate. To make an oil free dosa recipe, you first need to have a non-stick pan. This is the basic necessity!

The second step on how to make dosa without oil is to make sure that the dosa flour is not used directly from the refrigerator. It is also a recipe to enjoy for those of you who are on a weight loss program as it only has less amount of calories. An oil free dosa's calories is just to a minimum compared to a normal masala dosa which you normally indulge in. Though, the taste of this oil free dosa isn't appetising, it is very good for health.

Here is a simple and easy breakfast recipe to prepare for this morning. This oil free dosa should not be consumed with coconut chutney. The ideal choice should be mint, as it is cooling for the body and has less amount of calories too.

Recipe for oil free dosa (with less amount of calories):

 Oil Free Dosa Recipe For Breakfast

Serves: 4
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • Rice flour- 1 cup
  • Rava- 1 cup
  • Curds- 3tbsp
  • Ginger-green chilli paste- 2tsp
  • Onions- ½ cup (grated)
  • Tomatoes- 3 (pureed)
  • Salt to taste

Procedure

  1. Begin by combining the rava , curds, salt and rice flour in a bowl and mix well, adding enough water to make a batter of pouring consistency.
  2. When done, you need to cover the ingredients and keep aside for 6 minutes.
  3. Now add tomato puree ,onions, salt and the ginger-green chilli paste. Add all of these ingredients to the paste and mix well.
  4. When the flour is ready, heat a non stick pan/tawa and pour a laddle of the batter in the centre. Using a flat spoon, spread out the batter in a circular motion.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook for a minute on medium flame.
  6. You can also flip the dosa after it turns a light brown in colour on one side. Remove from the tava when you think it is cooked.

Your oil free dosa is now ready to eat. One thing you should be extremely careful of is the flame. Since there is no oil used, the flame should be at low always. If the dosa starts to stick to the pan, sprinkle a drop of water to help soften it.
