rice

cooked
with
a

ingredients

delicious.

poha
which
is
prepared
with
potatoes.
It
is
known
as
the
aloo
poha
or
batata
poha.
This

recipe

Maharashtra
and

All you need
- Poha (flattened rice)- 2 cups
- Aloo (potatoes)- 2 (chopped)
- Onion- 1 (chopped)
- Ginger paste- 1/2 tsp
- Green chilli paste- 1tsp
- Sugar- 1tsp
- Salt- as per taste
- Lemon juice- 1tbsp
- Mustard seeds- 1tsp
- Hing (asafoetida)- a pinch
- Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)
- Oil- 1tbsp
Procedure
1.
Wash
the
poha
with
water
thoroughly
and
drain
the
excess
water.
2.
Heat
oil
in
a
pan
and
add
mustard
seeds
and
hing
to
it.
3.
As
the
seeds
start
to
splutter,
add
the
onions
and
fry
for
3-4
minutes
on
medium
flame.
4.
Then
add
the
ginger
and
green
chilli
paste.
Cook
for
a
few
minutes.
5.
Now
add
in
the
potatoes
and
fry
for
4-5
minutes
on
medium
flame.
6.
Add
the
washed
poha,
salt,
lemon
juice
and
sugar.
Mix
well.
7.
Cook
for
another
3-4
minutes
till
the
potatoes
are
cooked
well.
8.
Sprinkle
the
coriander
leaves
and
switch
off
the
flame.
Aloo poha is ready to be served. A perfect breakfast recipe for those who want to eat healthy.
