Hara Bhara Upma For Breakfast

Hara Bhara Upma For Breakfast

Ingredients

  • Semolina (Rava)- 1 cup
  • Green peas- ½ cup
  • Onion- 1 (chopped)
  • Capsicum- 1 (cut in small cubes)
  • Carrot- 1 (cut in small cubes)
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Oil- 1tbsp
  • Cumin seeds- ½ tsp
  • Water- ½ cup

For the chutney

  • Coriander leaves- ½ cup (chopped)
  • Mint leaves- ¼ cup (chopped)
  • Green chillies- 3 (chopped)
  • Cumin seeds- 1tbsp
  • Lemon juice- 1tbsp
  • Garlic- 4 cloves
  • Sugar- 1tsp
  • Water- ½ cup

Procedure

1. Blend all the items in a mixer listed under chutney. Make a smooth paste. Keep it aside.
2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Fry for a minute.
3. Next add the onions and fry for 3-4 minutes on medium flame.
4. Add the green peas, carrot and capsicum. Fry for another 3-4 minutes.
5. Now pour in the chutney and mix well.
6. Add salt and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame.
7. Now add the semolina and water. Mix well. Avoid formation of lumps.
8. Cook for another 2-3 minutes and then switch off the flame.

Hara bhara upma is ready to be served. Enjoy this delicious breakfast recipe with green chutney.
