Tasty Low Fat Recipe

Green Gram Upma Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup sprouted green gram
  2. 1 1/2 cups of rava (fried until golden brown (with or without ghee))
  3. 3 cups of water
  4. 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  5. 1 tsp oil (refined)
  6. 1/2 tsp jeera
  7. ' tsp urad dal
  8. ' tsp gram dal
  9. ' tsp pepper
  10. 3 green chillies (chopped)
  11. 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  12. ' tsp sugar
  13. Salt according to taste
  14. Curry leaves
  15. Lemon juice
  16. Fresh Coconut (grated)

Green Gram Upma Preparation:

1. To the pan, add oil, mustard seeds, jeera, powdered pepper, urad dal, gram dal, green chillies, ginger, curry leaves and fry for a few seconds.
2. Add 3 cups of water and wait for it to boil.
3. Cook green gram sprouts for 10 minutes in the microwave and add to the boiling mixture.
4. Add the fried rava slowly and stir simoultaneously. Leave the upma on sim for about 5 minutes and turn off the stove.
5. Add a few drops of lemon juice and stir well. Garnish with chopped coriander and fresh coconut before serving.
This upma recipe serves 4-5.
