Dahi Idli Recipe For Breakfast

Dahi Idli Recipe For Breakfast

Ingredients

Idlis - 20
Curd - 5 cups
Milk - 2 cup
Cilantro - 1 (chopped)
Carrot - 1 (grated)
Sugar - 1tbsp
Salt - to taste

For grinding
Cashew - 500 gms
Coconut - 3 tbsp (grated)
Green chillies - 4 (sliced)

For seasoning
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 8
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Dry red chillies - 5
Asaefoetida - a pinch
Oil - 2 tblsp

Procedure

  1. You need to prepare a set of mini idlis in the traditional way. After preparing the idlis, cut them in square or diced pieces and keep it aside.
  2. Now beat the curd with milk using an egg beater. Add to the mixture the required sugar and salt to taste and whisk it again.
  3. Now in a pan heat oil and drop in the mustard seeds, urad dal, dry red chillies and curry leaves. Allow the contents to splatter in the hot oil and stir it constantly.
  4. Now add in the beaten curd and the asaefoetida.
  5. Add to the pan the ground cashews, green chillies and grated coconut and mix it together.
  6. To the pan, drop in the idlis. Let it soak for at least 15 minutes before you begin to serve the dahi idlis to your family members.
  7. When you serve the dahi idlis, garnish the plate with grated carrot and the chopped cilantro.

This dahi idli tastes better when it is refrigerated. Enjoy your dahi idlis cold!
