How to store fresh food?

Does your food get spoilt often? Do they have tainted smell if kept overnight? Do you have to waste more food than consuming it, due to lack of right storing techniques? Read on to know how to store cooked and uncooked food fresh for a longer time with these simple tips.

Useful Tips

Meat and Egg:

Wrap ham or bacon in a vinegar-soaked cloth, instead of waxed paper to preserve freshness.

To store ground beef for several days, add taco seasoning, sloppy joe sauce and freeze it in vacuum sealer bags.

Store eggs with the pointed side down. This will keep them fresh for a longer time.

Cooked food

After the food is cooked stir it well or place it into small containers. So that the middle of the container will not continue to breed microorganisms and lead to food poisoning.

Place a slice of toast on top of cooked rice to keep it fresh in the fridge.

Store your frozen food in ziplock bag instead of boxes.

Do not keep warm food into the refrigerator. Allow it to cool completely before putting it in the fridge.

Store cooked and ready to eat food on top of the refrigerator.

Store the cooked and the raw food separately in the refrigerator. Place the cooked food on the shelves above the raw food in order to reduce the risk of contamination.

Deserts

Store the most perishable foods like desserts, home prepared salads and leftovers in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Cooked meats and leftovers should be tightly wrapped to prevent drying out. Prevent gooey film on ice cream by laying a piece of waxed paper directly over the ice cream before resealing the carton.

Sliced apple on top of the cake box will help keeping cake moist.

Keep your canned foods in a pantry that is cool and dark. This includes cereals, oils, breads and beetroot,bread,children,container,cooked food,desserts,essential oils,fridge,garlic,non vegetarian recipes,onion,pasta,salad,sharon supriya,vegetables.

Vegetables and Fruits

Store them in the warmest part of your fridge.

Store celery and Lettuce in paper bags instead of plastic. Leave the leaves and stalks outside until ready to use.

Wrap onions individually in a foil. This will prevent them from becoming soft or sprouting.

Do not store tomatoes and cucumber in the same draw as the tomatoes give out gases that can cause cucumbers to rot faster. It is true with the apples to. So keep the apples away from the rest of the vegetables and the fruits.

Store radish in a vessel filled with water to keep them fresh and crisp for a longer time. If the radishes have become dry then keep them in a jar of cold water to regain their lost splendor.

Before placing the fruits and vegetables in the freezer wash it thoroughly to remove any soil or parasites.

Do not keep potatoes, onions and garlic in refrigerator. Put them in a paper bag and place them in dark places.

Cut the top of carrot and beetroot before storing.
