Suji Ka Halwa With Dry Fruits: Breakfast Recipe

Serves: 2
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • Suji- 1 cup
  • Sugar- 1 cup
  • Raisins- 7-8
  • Cashew nuts- 10 (halved)
  • Almonds- 6-7 (sliced)
  • Pistachios- 3-4 (sliced)
  • Cardamom powder- a pinch
  • Water- 1 cup
  • Ghee- ½ cup

Procedure

  • Heat 1tsp ghee in a frying pan.
  • Roast suji in a pan till it turns golden brown. Mix constantly on a low flame to prevent the suji from burning.
  • When the suji becomes golden brown and looks roasted, add water and mix well. Stir continuously without stopping till the water is absorbed. This prevents the formation of lumps.
  • Now addd remaining ghee in the pan and mix well.
  • When the water is soaked up and a layer of ghee is formed on the top surface, add sugar and mix well.
  • Stir till the sugar is completely dissolved. Put the pan off flame.

Suji ka halwa is ready. Garnish this sweet dish with dry fruits and cardamom powder. Serve it hot.
