Cham Cham Recipe For Diabetics
Cham cham is a lip-smacking dessert recipe from the state of Bengal. It is a delicious variation of the Bengali rosogullas, the only difference being in the way it is served. Rosogollas are served with sugar syrup while cham cham is served without any syrup, just with a dash of desiccated coconut or pistachios.
Cham cham recipe is quite easy to prepare. In this particular cham cham recipe, we are using sugar substitute to make it suitable for the diabetic patients. The diabetics can have this delightful dessert without worrying about their sugar level. The commercially sold cham chams are prepared using food colours. But we have avoided using food colours to keep this recipe healthy.

Ingredients
For paneer
- Milk- 1½ litres
- Lemon juice- 2tbsp
For syrup
- Artificial sweetener (sugar substitute)- 1cup
- Water- 3 cups
- Cardamom powder- 1tsp
For garnish
- Coconut- 1tbsp (grated)
- Pistachios- 1tbsp (crushed)
Procedure
- Heat the milk in a pan and bring it to boil. Add the lemon juice to it and mix well.
- Switch off the flame and wait for 5 minutes. Once the paneer separates, drain the water completely from the paneer using a muslin cloth.
- Knot the cloth and hang it to drain the excess water from the paneer.
- Heat water in a pan and add the artificial sweetener to it.
- Bring it to boil on high flame.
- Now transfer the paneer to a mixing bowl and knead it well till it becomes smooth.
- Make oval shaped cham chams out of it.
- Drop these cham chams carefully into the boiling syrup. Let it settle for about 10 minutes.
- After that, stir the syrup and flip the cham chams to the other side. Switch off the flame.
- After 10 minutes transfer the cham chams to a serving plate and garnish with grated coconut and pistachios.
