Turkey Cake: Thanksgiving Dessert

Well this is not all that easy to digest that turkey cake is a real cake made out of turkey meat. You can treat this special Thanksgiving cake like a meat pie but is it slightly more interesting than that. This Thanksgiving dessert recipe uses ground turkey for the cake and sweet potatoes as the icing! For making turkey cake you do not need hours and hours of work; a concentrated 2 hours and you can turn out this easy cake recipe quite well.

This Thanksgiving dessert recipe is not exactly a dessert it but can be called so because it is after all a cake. Don't worry, your Thanksgiving cake will be sweet too. Try this Thanksgiving dessert recipe if you are prepared to taste a hint of the spices used to cook the turkey in your dessert bowl.

Ingredients For Turkey Cake:

1. Unsalted butter or white butter (2 tablespoons)
2. Ground turkey 400 grams
3. Tender oats 4 to 5
4. Parmesan cheese 2 cubes ( grated )
5. Tomato Ketchup 2 tablespoons
6. Baby onion (chopped finely)
7. Parsley or coriander leaves (chopped)
8. Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons
9. Soy sauce 2 tablespoons
10. Thyme leaves (crushed)
11. Ground black pepper ' teaspoon
12. Garlic cloves 2 (mi9nced)

Ingredients For Incing:

  1. Sweet potatoes 4
  2. Milk ' cup
  3. Unsalted butter 2 tablespoons
  4. Brown sugar (2 tablespoons)
  5. Rock salt as per taste
  6. Pinch ground mace or nutmeg

Procedure For Turkey Cake:

  • The microwave oven has to to be preheated to 325 degrees and you need a medium height rack to bake the cake.
  • Mix all the ingredients of the cake or rather the ground turkey and spices to be baked. Do this lightly without crushing anything.
  • Grease the baking pan with butter and set the meat into it. Place it on the rack and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Meanwhile peel the lightly boiled sweet potatoes and mash them before keeping aside.
  • Boil milk with butter in a pan and season it with brown sugar and a pinch of rock salt. Add the mashed potatoes and cook for 3-4 minutes until the milk gets soaked.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and slice it into three layers very carefully. Put ketchup on each layer.
  • Now pat the mashed sweet potatoes each layer as you set it on top of each over. Cover all the sides and the top with this mash and decorate as you please.
  • You can bake it for another 5-7 minutes in the oven for the outsides to harden.
