Fried Chicken Wontons Recipe For Snack

This is how you make the fried chicken wonton recipe:

Serves: 3
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Chicken - 500 gms (boiled and minced)
  • Carrots - 1 cup (grated)
  • Cornstarch - 2tbsp
  • Soy Sauce - 1tsp
  • Ginger - 1tbsp (grated)
  • Water chestnuts - ¼ cup (ground)
  • Wonton wrappers - 1 packet
  • Butter - 2tsp
  • Canola Oil - 2tsp
  • Sweet and Sour Sauce - 1tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

Procedure

  1. Take a large bowl and combine the chicken, carrots and water chestnuts.
  2. In another small bowl, add in the cornstarch, water, soy sauce and ginger, and mix the ingredients together to form a smooth semi-watery dough.
  3. Now add in the chicken mixture (1st step) and give it a good stir with a flat spoon.
  4. Position a wonton wrapper with one point towards you. You should keep the remaining wonton wrappers covered with a damp paper towel and use it when you are ready.
  5. Now in the middle of the wonton cover, place one teaspoon of the filling in the center.
  6. Press the mixture gently into the wrapper, and begin to fold the bottom corner over the filling.
  7. Now using your fingers gently fold the sides of the wrapper toward the center covering the filling.
  8. Roll towards the remaining point and moisten the top corner with water. Press the corners of the wonton wrappers and seal it gently. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
  9. Combine butter and oil and gently brush it over the chicken wontons.
  10. Fry the sealed wontons in oil for about 10-12 minutes until they turn golden brown.

Your fried chicken wontons is now ready to eat. You can enjoy this fried snack with garlic sauce or tomato sauce.
