Mouth Watering Dahi Bhalla Recipe

Dhai bhallas are very popular Indian chaat. They are known to have a very tangy taste and are very simple to prepare. Dahi bhallas are a tasty combination of both spicy and sweet. The flavour of this Indian snack is very distinct. It is a curd recipe so it adds a tangy flavour to it. Indian chaats are known to very spicy but this chaat is an exception. Dahi bhalla's have a very unique flavour as it contains curd and tamrind together.

Ingredients

Black Gram Skinless(urad dal)
Salt To Taste
Chaat Masala 1tsp
Coriander 2 tbsp
Green Chillies 2
Mint Chutney To Taste
Oil
Raisins 15-20
Red Chilli Powder 1tsp
Roasted Cumin Powder 1tsp
Sev
Tamarind Chutney
Yogurt 2 cups
Cashew Nuts 15-20

Directions To Prepare

  • Wash and soak the black gram dal overnight in cold water. The following day, strain and grind it make a smooth paste. Whisk the batter and add salt to it.
  • Make round balls from the batter
  • Heat oil and add the dahi bhalla balls into it. Fry until it turns golden brown and add a stuffing of raisins and cashew to it.
  • Put the dahi bhallas in hot water and leave them for about 2 minutes. Drain the water out by squeezing the bhallas with your hands.
  • Whisk yogurt and sugar together. Mix it well for a fine taste
  • While serving place the bhallas on a plate and cover it with yogurt. To make it tangy and tasty add tamarind chutney and sprinkle mint leaves on your dahi bhallas.

Garnish it with sev, red chilli and cumin powder. Add coriander, chaat masala and red chilli powder to the prepared dahi bhalla.
