Cheese Stuffed French Toast For Breakfast

French toast is one of the favourite recipes of most kids. Even if you are a busy office goer, French toast is an easy breakfast recipe to begin your day with. However, you can make do with a simple and nutritious breakfast recipe, but your kids might want something more grand. That is why we gave the new and improved cheese stuffed French toast.

Cheese stuffed French toast is a slightly luxurious version of the original recipe. Apart from being an excellent egg recipe, cheese stuffed French toast gives your kids an extra dose of proteins from the cheese filling. This breakfast recipe is fairly easy to make and requires no frills at all. And if you feel that it may become a little too fattening, you can always use low fat cheese.

Cheese Stuffed French Toast

Serves: 2
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 5-7 minutes

Ingredients

  • French bread loaf- 4 slices
  • Eggs- 2
  • Cheese- 2 cubes (grated)
  • Cinnamon powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Nutmeg powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper- 1/2 tsp
  • Butter- 1tbsp
  • Salt-as per taste
  • Fresh Cream- 1tbsp

Procedure

  1. Cut a deep slit into both sides of all the bread loaves. Now stuff the grated cheese into this slit delicately.
  2. Do not over-stuff but add generous amounts of grated cheese to the bread slits.
  3. Now beat the eggs with salt, pepper, cinnamon powder and nutmeg powder. Whisk the mixture until it starts frothing.
  4. Now melt butter on flat non-stick pan. When it melts completely, dip the bread slices into the beaten eggs mixture and place it on the pan.
  5. Fry the bread on both sides until it becomes deep brown.
  6. If you are in a hurry you can fry the bread on medium flame or else, low flame is enough to cook the eggs and bread.

Serve the cheese stuffed French toasts with a dollop of fresh cream on top of them.
