Special Holi Recipe: Bhang Pakora

What is holi without Bhang? Although one wouldn't want to drink the alcohol there are savoury ways to use it in cooking. Bhang pakora recipe is the highly preferred holi recipe for the year. The reason is simple, it is different, spicy and filling. Take a look to know how to go about with the making of fried snacks.

Bhang pakoras are not as strong as the alcoholic drink and taste really good. Here is the holi recipe preparation.

Bhang Pakora Recipe
Ingredients:

  1. 2 cups gram flour (besan)
  2. 1 potato
  3. ½ cup cauliflower
  4. 1 onion
  5. ½ cup spinach
  6. 1 brinjal Brinjal
  7. ½ tsp bhang seed powder
  8. ½ tsp chilli powder
  9. Pinch of baking soda
  10. Pinch of carom seeds
  11. 5 gms mango powder (aamchur)
  12. Salt to taste
  13. Oil for deep-frying

Preparing Bhang Pakora:

  1. In a bowl, add the sieved besan, baking soda, salt and chilli powder. Prepare a thick batter.
  2. Wash, peel and make slices of the vegetables
  3. Add the bhang seed powder, ajwain, mango powder and salt. Mix the vegetables well.
  4. Dip the vegetables in the batter and deep fry till golden brown. Tasty bhang pakoras are ready.

Serve the pakora hot with sauce or chutney.
You can also add a few slices of capsicum, okra to the bhang pakora recipe.
