Baked Eggs: A Savoury Recipe

Why not give a different twist to the usual hard boiled eggs and prepare a mouthwatering snack out of it. This is an easy snack recipe and you can prepare baked eggs on any day if you have some free time. Though the spices used in this egg recipe are very simple, it renders an exotic flavour and aroma to the baked eggs. The eggs are stuffed with meat or paneer (cottage cheese) in this eggs recipe. You can use any stuffing for this baked recipe as per your taste. But here, in this eggs recipe, we will use a meat filling for baked eggs. The best part is that even if your children do not like eggs they are simply going to love this baked recipe using eggs. It's definite that all foodies will love this egg recipe.

Baked Eggs: A Savoury Recipe

Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

For The Baked Eggs

  • Eggs-4
  • Cheese- -1½ -2 cups
  • Butter- 2-3tbsp

For The Filling

  • Onions- 2-3 (finely chopped)
  • Chicken- 500gms (minced)
  • Vinegar-2tbsp
  • Black Pepper Powder- ½tbsp
  • Parsley Leaves- 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Celery- 1 cup (finely chopped)
  • Cucumber- 1-2 (finely sliced)
  • Tomatoes- 1-2 (finely sliced)
  • Butter-2-3tbsp
  • Salt- To taste

Procedure

For The Baked Eggs

  • Hard boil the eggs in a frying pan over the gas oven. Peel off the shell and keep them aside.
  • Take another deep bottomed frying pan and add 2-3tbsp of butter to it.
  • Add the onions in the same pan. Stir fry on a low flame until golden brown.
  • Now add the minced chicken, vinegar, black pepper powder, parsley leaves, celery and some salt to it. Stir on a medium flame for 5-6 minutes. Turn off the gas oven and keep this mixture aside.
  • Take the eggs and cut them from the middle using a knife. Now take out the yellow portion of the eggs.
  • Stuff the meat mixture in the hollow of the eggs (where the yolk should have been).
  • Now take a baking tray and smear it with the 2tbsp of butter.
  • Place the eggs on them and bake it at 200 Degree Centigrade in a microwave.
  • Take it out of the microwave after 15 minutes.

For The Serving

  • Take 4 quarter plates and place two half-baked eggs in each.
  • Garnish with the chopped cucumber and tomatoes; serve hot.
